About Us
SGMP is a national association for individuals involved in planning government meetings and for the companies who provide facilities or services to those planners. Our membership includes employees of federal, state and local governments, as well as contract meeting planners, who manage government meetings on a full- or part-time basis.
Our mission is to enhance the knowledge and expertise of government meeting professionals. Our objectives are to improve the quality and promote the cost-effectiveness of government meetings.
SGMP is the only national organization in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to government meetings. All of our members pledge to uphold our code of ethics. SGMP is one of 31 organizations represented in the Conventions Industry Council (CIC) that promotes professionalism within the meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry
